NBR Media Collective

The "NBR Media Collective" incubates beginner journalists and aims to serve as an autonomous collective. This project was launched in 2026 with encouraging progress. The year-long pilot project will work to enhance the skills and field experience of emerging journalists from the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve (NBR).​ ​

This initiative hopes to bridge the gap between Adivasi and local communities' lived experiences, what stories they want to tell, and the practicalities of journalism. Selected NBR journalists undergo comprehensive training, gain field experience under the guidance of experienced media resource persons, and are offered the opportunity to conduct field-based research with partner organisations.
