Networks and Collaborations

Community media efforts have been strengthened through regional, national, and global networks, enabling knowledge exchange, collaboration, and resource mobilisation.

Earth Journalism Network (EJN):   

Through EJN, 10 indigenous and local youth were trained in: 

• Climate and environmental reporting  

• Biodiversity documentation  

• Disaster response communication  

This expanded the scope of community journalism to engage with global environmental discourses.

Tamil Nadu Pondicherry Community Radio Association (TNPCRA):

Initiated through Radio Kotagiri’s collaborations, TNPCRA brings together community radio stations across the state. 

Key contributions: 

• Content sharing across stations  

• Collaborative fundraising efforts  

• Joint capacity building and training programmes  

 

Partnerships with organisations such as Adivasi Lives Matter, SMART NGO, Cultural Survival, UNICEF, UNESCO, and Ideosync Media Combine have enabled: 

• Thematic programming (health, nutrition, governance, media literacy)  

• Training in participatory communication and rights-based media  

• Support for local language broadcasting and content creation
